Photography Workshops for Beginners

If you are new to digital photography this 3 Hour workshop will show you all you need to know to make the most of your new camera.

The workshop starts with absolute fundamentals adding each new concept in a clear and logical way, which you will then put immediately in to practice.

Subjects covered include;

Understanding Exposure, how to prevent under and over exposure using the Histogram combined with Exposure Compensation. Take the guess work out of exposure control.

Setting White Balance for natural colour. You will learn how to match the camera's white balance to the colour of the prevailing light. You will also learn how to use WB creatively; turn night in to day, add warmth to a portrait.

You will learn how to control movement with Shutter Speeds. We look at how to freeze fast moving subjects, how to create a milky appearance in flowing water and how to "Pan".

We will explore using Apertures to throw distracting backgrounds out of focus (or keep interesting back in focus).
This ability to control Depth Of Field is one of the most important creative controls available to a photographer.

We will discuss important accessories including filters, lenshoods, flash and imaging software.

"Just wanted to send a quick email to thank you for a great time on your Morning Photography Course. I had taken a similar course almost 2 years ago and had forgotten some of the content and was struggling with some of my photos.

I now know what you mean when you say you know when you have taken a good photo. Attached is a photo I took of someone one the train on my way home. Even before taking the photo I knew what it would look like. Normally I don't like asking people if I could take a photo of them but I just had to.

Thanks and I look forward to your other courses.

Kind regards,

Sussanah Teng"
