This 5 hour workshop is ideal if you have already done the One Day Workshop or the Beginner's 3 hour class.

There will be a bit of revision of basics including depth of field and controlling movement with shutter speeds.

We will then look at topics such as composition and understanding the nature of light.

We will take advantage of the location to practice some landscape photography.

In the case of less favourable weather parts of the workshop will take part indoors. There will be plenty of interesting stuff whatever the weather.

This workshop starts at midday to allow time to travel from Sydney. Consider staying in the mountains overnight.

Sweeping vistas, rugged escarpments and pretty waterfalls are ideal subjects for the landscape photographer.

Other natural attractions include beautiful tree ferns, colourful fungi and prolific birdlife.

The many art deco buildings lend charm to the area and make good subjects for a little architectural photography.

We will visit one of the local cafes for a "coffee and cake break".

What to bring:
DSLR or high end digital compact (e.g. Canon G11);
Memory card(s); Lens(es); protection filters (UV or Skylight) for each lens; pen & paper.

Also useful:
Polarising filter, tripod (I have some that I lend out free of charge - let me know if you wish to borrow one).

The weather can be changeable at any time of the year in the mountains so bring something warm and rain resistant. Also make sure you have walking shoes/boots.
